Ashlea Stafford, MSCCC-SLP is a skilled and compassionate speech-language pathologist who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2003, followed by a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in 2007.
Throughout her career, Ashlea has pursued extensive professional development, completing certifications in a wide range of specialized areas, including Natural Language Acquisition (Gestalt Language Processors), Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC), Autism, Articulation/Phonology, Apraxia of Speech, Fluency, Language Therapy, Child-Led Therapy, Oral-Sensorimotor Techniques, Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTS), ABA Techniques, Feeding, Dysphagia, Reading/Literacy, Early Intervention, Telepractice, Voice, and Clinical Supervision. She is also well-versed in tools and therapies such as TalkTools, Beckman Oral-Motor Assessment and Intervention, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Teach Me To Talk, PRC-Saltillo AAC, and Kauffman Apraxia Therapy.
Ashlea is particularly passionate about working with pediatric clients, focusing on expanding their overall language and communication abilities. She has a special interest in Apraxia of Speech (CAS), and finds great joy in helping children find their voice, especially when they speak their first words. Ashlea thrives on watching her young clients grow in confidence as they gain the skills to share their thoughts and feelings with others.
